Guidelines on Applying for Support
The Organizing Committee for the 16th World Congress of IUAES plans to provide financial and logistics support a limited number of scholars and students. The support include reimbursement of travel expense to 10,000 RMB (approximately 1,380 U.S. dollars) for a successful applicant, free lodging for scholars at a three-star hotel and for students at a university dormitory, and waiver of registration fee upon recommendations. Please read the following guidelines for detailed information.
1. Travel
The Organizing Committee will reimburse 200 scholars for their expenses of travel (by air, train or ship) and the maximum amount for each successful applicant cannot govern over 10,000 RMB (approximately 1,380 U.S. dollars).
2. Lodging
Some 1,000 scholars and students will be provided with free lodging. Scholars who receive this form of support will be put up at a three-star hotel (two persons sharing one room), and students who receive the free lodging support will stay at a university dormitory that has newly refurbished double rooms.
3. Waiver of Registration Fee
The chairperson of a given session will automatically qualify for a waiver of registration fee and he/ she may also recommend a presenter from every 15 participants in his /her session for registration fee waiver.

Please note that participants and especially paper presenters and students from developing countries will be assigned top priorities in receiving the aforementioned support. In addition, we will also consider one¡¯s academic achievements and contributions to this conference in making our decisions.

Each applicant should send us the Form for Financial Support ( Form 1 ) and each panel/session chairperson should send us the Recommended Form ( Form 2 ) for registration fee waiver. The deadline for both is March 25 2008. Letters of approval will be delivered to successful applicants by the Organizing Committee before April 15 2008.

Travel expenses reimbursement will be handled by a finance office of the Organizing Committee during the conference in Kunming from July 14 to 23. We will need one¡¯s ticket and letter of support approval as evidence for reimbursement.
